Welcome!
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We created a iCloud photo album that anyone can upload photos to during or after our event. Let's document all these great memories, together 😀
It's completely optional to participate, yet we are planning to have several activities going on for you, our guests, to celebrate our marriage. We hope you will have fun relaxing or playing a game with us!
Help us set the mood! Add songs to our playlist 🙂
Our reception theme is "beach picnic." Wear a smile and clean comfortable, "beach casual" or sport wear clothing to participate in some fun outdoor activities!
Although not necessary, we've been asked by a few in regards to food help/preparation and bringing beverages. If you would like to bring a snack, dessert, drink/beverage, or other edible item with you to help us celebrate, then let us know on the third section of the RSVP.

Our story
when & where
Wisconsin is also home to some of the largest waterparks in the country! The Wisconsin Dells is home to Noah's Ark, The Wilderness, and Mt. Olympus, all of these parks are about 1 hour and twenty minutes away from the reception. Below is information to begin your plan to stay at the Dells.
Another option is to rent an Airbnb home nearby. Below you will find available Airbnb's in the Lake Country area.
Oconomowoc is situated in between Madison (MSN, 50min from venue) and Milwaukee (MKE, 41 min from venue) airports. Leah strongly believes MKE is the best option to travel by plane (closer + Madison is in called "MADtown" for a reason=CRAZYtown).
Our reception theme is "beach picnic." We are on the lakefront and directly next to the city beach. For dress-code, we ask that you aim for your outfit to resemble "beach casual." Be prepared to both have your picture taken and play outdoor games at your leisure. If you need ideas of what to wear/bring, click the help button below. Rashguards are okay, too!
We love being outside together playing some sort of game. Feel free to bring your favourite yard or group game with you. If you have ideas or wish to help setup a game click below and drop us some ideas.
Another option to explore while you are here is the historic "third ward" located 40 minutes away from the venue in Milwaukee. It's a touristy area with tons of museums, authentic restaurants, and things to do. We recommend the MKE Art Museum, Jewish Museum of MKE, Lakefront Brewery Cheese Curds, and the MKE Public Market (make sure to taste test the Olive Oils, ha).
Nearby are several beautiful parks to walk and hike on, and some bigger state park hiking trails like Devil's Lake (near Wisconsin Dells) or the Ice Age Trails of Lapham Peak park (local, nearby in Delafield).
...and many more outdoorsy activities like Old World WI, too!
Below you will find a downtown Oconomowoc parking map. Listed on the map are clickable links to photos and google map coordinates. We highlighted the best area to park and places to explore here.

Below are photos of the "Community Room" and "the Lawn" areas of our venue's celebration:

Ideas for what to wear...

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
August 12, 2022
Our first time meeting each other was as partners during a wrestling takedown drill at Open Guard Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's competition class (pictured). This was Leah's second week at the gym, and Tyler was recently promoted to his second stripe as a blue belt.
Calvary Connect
March 4, 2023
After Saturday BJJ class and open mat, Leah spontaneously invited Tyler to a young adult fellowship group at her church called, "Connect." Through conversation, Leah learned that Tyler was a Christian, too, and knew some of her former classmates.

Lake Country Young Adults
June 13, 2023
Tyler invited Leah to his young adult group where she reconnected with old classmates and friends. They played a funny game of "Interference" where each person write's a prompt on a stack of paper and passes it right to the next person who draws. It's like the classic game of telephone, yet it involves interpretive drawing!
Leah's roommate Lexie went to this group, too, and invited her to go to the beach day event later that summer (pictured left).
Broken Knee & Fight Night
August 26, 2023
Tyler, Leah, and Krysten were going to carpool to the Waukesha Expo Center to watch Open Guard Competitors compete in their fights. Leah decided to play soccer at the Alumni game earlier that day shortly after Open Mat. Within the first few minutes of playing, she tore her left ACL.
Luckily, she had prior experience tearing her right ACL two years before to manage this situation, and her roommate Krysten is a nurse and helped bandaged her up. Krysten and Leah left the soccer game early and headed out. Tyler ended up becoming the driver of the carpool to fight night.
(Pictured right is a Grappling Industries Photo taken two weeks later.)

The Handshake
September 2024 - Onward
Tyler and Leah talked a lot that summer. One evening shortly after Grappling Industries, Tyler asked Leah to be his girlfriend, and they shook hands on their new relationship.
(Pictured left is a reenactment of the handshake).
The Proposal
December 1, 2024
On Sunday morning before church, Tyler asked if Leah wanted to go for a walk in the park before church, you know, to do something different. She said, "Of course, I like adventures!" and off they went.
It was freezing cold with a high of 9 degrees at Nashotah Park (and that's not including wind chill). They walked along, and discovered to Tyler's dismay that the trail did not lead next to the partially frozen lake. On the way back, Leah noticed that Tyler seemed to stop walking at the crossroads of the trail behind her. She took a look behind, and there was Tyler on one knee. "Leah, I want to do more adventures with you. Will you marry me?"
Leah (literally) cried with joy, and through emotional sobs, said, "Yes!"

A New Year's Eve Wedding
December 31, 2024
With only thirty days until the end of the year, Tyler and Leah decided they wanted to get married. Why wait? Why not start this new adventure sooner, and begin this new journey at the start of the new year? They discussed this months prior that long engagements really made no sense. Plus, Leah really liked the 12/31 date and the idea of getting married on New Year's Eve! They knew they wanted to be together and the engagement settled it; they were going to be wed before year's end. Despite all the work, marriage counseling, and dress deliberations, Tyler and Leah made it work with less than 30 days preparation. Yet, they would not have been able to do so without the support and help of both their families, friends, and Pastor and Mrs. Loggans. They are forever grateful for their love and support!
At two o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, December thirty-first, twenty twenty four, in the presence of a small gathering of immediate family, Tyler and Leah married. Duh duh dahhhh!

For our registry we decided to give our family and friends a few options to help us with some of our current big purchase goals we are saving and budgeting for. We have three main goals: 1) Go on a Honeymoon, 2) Save for a down-payment on a house, 3) Adopt a puppy!
We have most, if not all, the essential household items we need from previous gifts from when we moved out of the house and were living on our own before we met. We are purposely deciding not to buy too many big new pieces of furnishings, since we are currently living in an apartment complex and want to minimize our accumulation of larger physical items before we move out (potentially) next spring into a new home, Lord willing! It's not necessarily traditional, yet as Grandma Susie would have advocated, "I'll just give you money, so you can get exactly what you want!" On the WithJoy website you will find a few separate cash funds to help us save for these bigger purchase goals 🙂
If you would like to gift us something physical, we would LOVE something like a handmade card or letter with any advice or stories you can write or tell us about your marriage personally or anything that could help us with our future goals (see below). Anything that you believe would be an encouragement or help to us will be a goldmine of treasure for us to glean and use in our lives moving forward together!
Otherwise, we have a few physical items on the WithJoy Registry list and ideas for gifts. We like board games and card games, outdoor games, Brazilian JiuJitsu, and everything in between! Outside of group games, we are reading more and have a few books on our registry that we wouldn't mind having a personal copy of a few books. Feel free to buy any of these registry items elsewhere if you find a better deal. I believe under each item there is a option that says "Mark as Purchased" so you can let others know that you've bought it elsewhere.
Please reserve before August 2, 2025. Let us know you're coming 🙂
